As I checked myself out in the mirror… I looked ridiculous!
My heart was beating fast, I was sweating like nobodies business and I was out of breath.
And I didn’t even mind.
Because… I did it!
I finally when to a Chicago Stepping class.
Here’s a picture so that you can see that I mean business.
Evidence of this uncoordinated girl finally completing her first Chicago steppers class.
The truth is that this is what overcoming hurdles look like.
I think this style of dance is the sexiest in the world. But, my husband didn’t want to go with me. I’ve asked for years, but, he doesn’t feel comfortable dancing.
But, I knew I wasn’t going to rest until I try it at least once. So what did I do? I grabbed a couple of my girlfriends and we went to class together. It was hard to learn and I’m still not really good at it.
But I’ve learned that it’s all part of the process.
It can be clumsy. You aren’t going to always be at your best. You will need to leave your comfort zone multiple times over.
The sooner you learn how to overcome your inner fears that you have to wait for your husband to help you solve your problems, the faster you are going to succeed.
Despite it all, it’s all worth it to finally say I don’t always have to wait for my husband to participate in solving my problems or helping me grow. I can make a decision to step out of my comfort zone and do things that satisfy me!
I’m here to help you.
Let us get out of our comfort zones together.
